Best free personal training software: the free plans

Everfit Starter, which Everfit labels "Forever Free", is the larger free plan among the seven apps below: it covers up to 5 clients. Trainerize's free Basic plan, for 1 coaching client, is the only other one in the table.

Trainerize's FAQ says its plan never expires and that it is one of only two platforms in its category, alongside Everfit, with a permanent free tier. Among the ten rivals read on October 30, 2026, Everfit is the only one that shows one.

Free trials: how long, and whether a card is needed

A trial ends; a free plan does not. Trainerize's trial runs 30 days with unlimited clients and no card. Its pricing FAQ says the account then reverts to the free plan, with 1 coaching client, instead of billing you, and add-ons are not part of the trial. TrueCoach's pricing page, read October 30, 2026, offers 14 days with no card. Everfit asks for no card either, and every HubFit plan starts with 14 days.

Trainerize's help center says the trial must be started on the web, not in the mobile app. It includes programs and tracking, messaging, groups and the mobile app. Paid add-ons, the Custom Branded App, the AI Workout Builder and a second custom exercise video upload are not in it.

Three trials take a card. Kahunas takes it at sign-up and charges nothing until the trial ends, CoachRx charges it on day 15, and PT Distinction's 1-month trial lists card details as required.

What the free plans leave out

Trainerize's free Basic plan includes the mobile app for iOS and Android, workout programs and delivery, basic in-app messaging and habit coaching. It has no add-ons and no AI Workout Builder, and a Trainerize.me profile on it is not searchable. Everfit's Starter covers core tools for up to 5 clients. Neither charges your clients.

Which free option fits which roster

  • 1 client: either free plan works.
  • 2 to 5 clients: only Everfit's Starter stays free; Trainerize Grow starts at $10 a month billed monthly for 2 coaching clients.
  • 6 to 10 clients: Everfit's 10-client Pro step is $29 a month billed monthly, and Trainerize Pro 15 is $50 for up to 15.
  • 30 clients or more: both free plans are too small, so use Trainerize's 30-day trial to load the whole roster, then choose a seat band before the trial ends.

When to move to a paid plan

A roster of 6 or more needs a paid plan on Everfit, and a second client needs one on Trainerize. Trainerize Grow is $10 a month billed monthly for 2 coaching clients, and Pro 5 is $25 for 5. Everfit Pro starts at $19 a month billed monthly for 5 clients and $29 for 10. Trainerize free plan covers the 1-client plan and the separate 30-day trial, and best personal training software compares paid plans by roster size.

  • Everfit when 5 clients or fewer is the whole roster: Starter costs nothing.
  • Trainerize for a 30-day no-card trial with unlimited clients, and a free Basic plan for 1 coaching client after it.
  • TrueCoach for a 14-day trial with no card, then Starter at $29.98 a month billed monthly.
