Trainerize migration tool: what exists and what does not

Trainerize documents no tool that imports programs or client history from another coaching app, as read on October 30, 2026. Clients come in by CSV, programs are rebuilt, and Studio Plus at $275 a month, billed monthly, adds personalized onboarding. Trainerize's help center also says nothing can be transferred from one Trainerize account to another. A five-step "Transition Your Coaching Business" guide sits behind a lead form.

Moving your client list in by CSV

  1. Download the template .csv from the upload dialog and fill in first name, last name and email, the three mandatory fields.
  2. Remove duplicates, which Trainerize rejects.
  3. Write each birthday with the full four-digit year.
  4. Upload the file. Full-access clients receive an email prompting them to set up their account and download the app.

An Offline client is one the coach manages with no login and no invitation email, so profiles and programs can be set up before anyone is invited. It still uses a coaching seat. Clients can also arrive through a checkout link or Zapier. When a seat band is full, new clients wait as Pending clients, and an upgrade does not move them in on its own.

Rebuilding programs, with or without the AI builder

Programs are rebuilt in Trainerize. Master Workouts come from the workout builder or pre-made templates, and Copy To reuses a workout or program across clients without changing the original. The AI Workout Builder, a prompt-based workout drafter in open beta, can draft a workout from an uploaded CSV, Excel or PDF file, but it does not create whole programs or training phases. It needs a paid plan from Grow.

If you leave later: what Trainerize lets you export

Trainerize does not export workouts or programs; they can only be printed or saved as PDF. Client history, including workout history, progress statistics, body measurements and program adherence, cannot be exported, and the client-list export holds first name, last name, email, phone number and trainer name only. Its terms say it does not provide backups of your profile information. Deleting an account is permanent and its client information cannot be restored, so export before you cancel.

Rivals that offer to do the move

CoachRx's pricing page says "We move your clients and programs across at no cost," and names Trainerize among the apps people come from. Its bulk CSV import brings clients in and does not migrate prior training history. Exercise.com's pricing page says it offers done-for-you migration from every software platform, and its plans are by quote. See Trainerize vs CoachRx and Trainerize alternatives.

Trainerize's pricing page says its 30-day trial takes unlimited clients with no credit card, so a test batch can be imported before the whole roster moves. When the trial ends the account reverts to the free plan with one active client, extra clients lose coaching access, and add-ons are not part of the trial. How to use Trainerize as a coach has the setup order.
